Follow truth wherever it may lead.
-Thomas Jefferson, US President
Thomas Jefferson makes use of the phrase "follow truth" a number of times in his writings. Jesus talks a lot about truth as well. Today we hear a lot of lies from our government and even our churches, we see our elected lie, cheat, steal, commit fraud, do many despicable things. Our churches and priests and so called leaders are like this too, they spew the Bible and preach, but outside of church and down from the pulpit ignore, avoid, dismiss, and cannot be bothered with their parishioners. They are nothing like Jesus and are big hypocrites. We see a lot of truth today! Truth is painful, especially when we see it from our elected, so called leaders, or people of God. Socrates also said something similar, I guess Jefferson liked him. Truth is what is important. God is truth. The Bible is truth. We need to not follow man and things of this world, only God, His truth, the Bible, the teachings of Jesus, we need to follow the truth! We need to follow the truth even when sometimes it is painful or raw. Truth is what really matters! Live the truth!
